The Halifax Community Investment Fund (HCIF) Society was established in July 2007 to manage and oversee a $1,000,000 community investment fund. The endowment is used to fund bursaries and other similar projects that benefit the community and its members in our defined geographic area.

Sustainability – Recognizing the risks involved, the Community Investment Fund will be well designed and managed to ensure protection and enhancement of its ability to carry out its mandate into the future.
Integrity – The CIF is transparent and accountable to the community through board member availability and other processes.
Focus – The CIF will complement, coordinate and leverage existing resources to avoid duplication of roles.
Leadership – The CIF will be pro-active to ensure that our community is engaged and positively impacted by our activities.
Diversity – The CIF celebrates and values the diversity in the community and on our board.
Our area is defined by Cogswell, North Park, Agricola, North and Barrington Streets.
The HCIF Society is formally registered with the Government of Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies (Registry ID 3226762).
The society was granted charitable status in 2012.
